Crossing manufacturing area boundaries and vehicle travel paths in unapproved locations sets the individual up for serious injury.
Challenge
Maintaining three points of contact when ascending or descending stairs is essential to prevent a fall. Our customer identified stair use as a slip, trip, fall risk, as they had multiple stairways located throughout their facility. Our stair bannister use case can determine whether or not proper three points of contact are being used when ascending or descending stairs.
Goal
Upon initial implementation, they knew they had to drill down further as their stair bannister compliance was only at 27%. Using their alert data, they were able to determine that one staircase location was causing the majority of alerts.
By adding signage near the staircases, and retraining personnel in the area, they saw an increase in overall stair bannister compliance, raising their compliance to 96%. This risk reduction helps keep workers safe, by reducing the risk of a fall.
No hardware, no sensor, no installation.
