Real-time visibility for chemical plant operations

Chemical plant operations run with high-risk work happening across confined spaces, hot-work zones, loading racks, vessels, and contractor-heavy turnarounds. Intenseye helps safety teams detect serious-injury risks in real time before they become incidents, stoppages, or process-safety concerns.

AI SAFETY FOR CHEMICALS

Why chemical plants are hard to keep safe.

Detect
50+ high-energy hazards, the instant they appear.
Warn & stop
A voice warning, or a machine stop in ~0.8s.
Prove
Leading indicators that show risk falling.

Confined spaces, hot work in flammable atmospheres, energy isolation during turnarounds, contractor surges, and chemical-exposure PPE - in an industry where the worst events are catastrophic.

Intenseye uses computer vision on the cameras you already run to detect the unsafe acts and conditions that cause SIFs, in real time. It complements your gas detection and PSM instrumentation - it doesn't replace them.

USE CASES ON THE FLOOR

The use cases that matter in a chemical plant.

50+ detections, organized the way PSM and EHS teams think - from confined spaces to hot work to the loading rack. Pick a scenario to see what Intenseye watches, and why each one matters on a real floor.

THE DIFFERENTIATOR

Most safety AI just watches.
Intenseye steps in.

A worker reaches into a running conveyor. Same hazard, same instant - but observation only logs the risk. Intervention prevents the injury.

Observe-only AIJust watches
IntenseyeSteps in
The moment
Reach-in at a running conveyor logged “for review.”
Reach-in detected in real time - response starts instantly.
Worker warned
No warning reaches the floor.
Sentinel Speaker calls the hazard out - the worker pulls back.
Machine response
The machine keeps running - nothing is halted.
Hard Stop halts the machine in ~0.8s - before contact.
Follow-up
The hazard stays open until someone reviews it.
A corrective action is created, owned, and tracked to done.
Outcome
Stops at a notification.
Prevents the injury.

RECOMMENDED FOR THIS ENVIRONMENT

Hardware coverage for chemical plant risk zones.

Intenseye runs on the CCTV you already own. Where a standard camera can't see - at a hot-work zone, a confined-space portal, a loading rack - purpose-built Sentinel devices fill the gap. Chemicals needs thermal coverage first, with wide-area coverage close behind. Classified or hazardous areas use appropriately rated, qualified cameras.

01The challenge

Across global sites, Henkel needed to see and act on unsafe acts in real time — and drive its potential-SIF and vehicle–pedestrian risk toward zero.

02What Intenseye did

Intenseye went live on the cameras already on site, detecting unsafe acts and conditions in real time — a program that won the Henkel Global Supply Chain Award. At one loading dock, restricted-area entries fell from 470 to 19 alerts/camera in four months.

Total incident rate fell from 3.3 to zero, with 100% of potential SIF risks eliminated, 60% fewer vehicle–pedestrian interactions — and zero lost-time incidents.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

Built for EHS and operations leaders. Still have a question?

Does it work with our plant cameras, including classified areas?
Yes - about 90% of IP cameras across 200+ brands, out of the box. In classified / hazardous (Ex) areas, Intenseye runs on appropriately rated cameras - we don't claim our hardware is Ex-rated unless verified.
How does it prevent a confined-space incident?
It detects entry to a permit space, occupancy over the limit, and attendant gaps in real time - and alerts before an unauthorized or unsafe entry becomes an incident.
Can it detect fire or overheating?
Yes - Sentinel Thermal sees heat, overheating equipment, and early-stage fire. It does not detect gas and does not replace your gas detection or process-safety instrumentation - it complements them.
Does it help during turnarounds and with contractors?
Yes - it flags entry to un-isolated equipment and contractors in restricted zones 24/7, giving stronger oversight exactly when a surge of contractors hits the highest-risk work.
Do you use facial recognition?
No. Everything is processed on-site, anonymized, with no facial recognition or biometric identification - SOC 2 Type II.
How fast do results show?
Most plants see measurable risk reduction in under six months - fewer confined-space, hot-work, and LOTO exposures, and an audit-ready leading-indicator record.
